SWATCHES

The first two colors, Smog on the top and Maui Wowie on the bottom.

Smog is a shimmery copper color in the pan, but on skin it becomes darker than you'd think. On skin this color is a barely off-matte dark brown with very small flecks of gold. I use a very small bit of this color for defining and deepening my socket, but it can get too heavy very quickly. Pigmentation is pretty damn insane, with or without a primer.

Maui Wowie again looks different in the pan. In the pan this is a neutral khaki, but on the skin it becomes more of a shimmery light green. I haven't had much of a use for this color since the color isn't my favorite, but the pigmentation is very good, with or without a primer.
Smog and Maui Wowie as they appear in the palette. Swatches over NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.
Second column, Mildew above Shattered.

Mildew is suitably mildewy. The color is mostly true-to-pan, but it could be light or dark depending on how heavily you apply it and which primer you use. Over Urban Decay Primer Potion the color is a light green with nice flecks of gold, but over NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk the color is darker and closer to a forest green.

Shattered is a shimmery light blue. It reminds me of glass, probably because of the name. Like Mildew this color can be very light or dark, depending on the primer and application strength.

Third column, Oil Slick over Polyester Bride.

Oil Slick is not entirely a true black, it's a shimmery dark gray with subtle purple flecks. I like using this color to set gel liners, but it would also work well for a nice smokey eye or smudged into the lash line. Pigmentation is fair.

Polyester Bride is not entirely true white, it's a shimmery light cream with subtle goldish flecks. This color when applied very lightly works well to lighten up any color very nicely, so I usually use it in the middle of the mobile lid or as an inner highlight. This color is very pigmented, but doesn't appear just on my pale-ass skin. It works best over other colors.
Oil Slick and Polyester Bride, I trust that you can figure out which is which. Over NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.
Fourth column, Last Call above Grifter.

Last Call is a shimmery wine-magenta color. A gorgeous color, if not a bit tricky to work in with the other colors of this palette. I haven't used this color much, except for reasons I'll outline below. This color doesn't change much in or out of the pan, or from primer to primer.

Grifter is a light shimmery violet. This color is great put all across the lid, with Last Call as a defining color and Polyester Bride on the inner corner. Like it's column-mate, this color is very true-to-pan.

Final column, Chopper on top and Sin on bottom.

Chopper is a lovely coppery color. On skin it looks how Smog looks in pan. This is a color from the Naked 2 Palette from Urban Decay. Great pigmentation.

Sin in the pan looks fairly khaki-like, but on skin it has a rosy tint. I like the rosiness, it really is a nice twist to jazz up an otherwise dreary color. Sin is, because of this, my favorite color in this palette. I like using it all across my mobile lid, with Chopper and Smog to define and Polyester Bride as the inner highlight.

All together now. Top to bottom, left to right:
Smog, Maui Wowie, Mildew, Shattered, Oil Slick, Polyester Bride, Last Call, Grifter, Chopper, Sin.

REVIEW

Let me cut to the chase: I love this palette, and I want more from Urban Decay. This is my first palette from them, and I've wanted it for a while since I saw a neat look made with Smog, Mildew and Shattered. I bought this palette at the same time as my LORAC afterGLO Palette (that I also reviewed and swatched), which arrived faster than this one. I was a bit disappointed about that palette, but I'm very glad to say that I am not disappointed by this palette.

Pigmentation is very good, either over a primer or no. There is very little fallout, creasing, or fading. These shadows do not mess around.

As far as the colors go, I am fairly pleased. The first four colors are two nude shades and two colorful shades that lean towards the cooler side of the rainbow. The last four are two nudes and two colorful shades that lean towards the warmer side of the rainbow. To keep the balance, the middle two are just plain ol' black and white. You can create a few different nude looks, a few more fashion-forward looks, etc.

This palette isn't bank-breaking at $34, which includes a tube of Primer Potion in Original and the small brush. The brush is nice, not the best ever but certainly better than most freebie brushes. It also looks pretty cute.

In conclusion, go out and but it. It's really, really good.
